Wayland Agricultural Show

Wayland’s Creative Community

The Trustees, Staff and Volunteers of the Wayland Partnership are delighted to be able to continue to support the 2018 Wayland Show.

The Wayland Partnership is a community led charity set up twenty years ago by the market town of Watton, thirteen village parishes and a number of key community organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Tourism Association, ‘to promote the economic, social, cultural and environmental well-being of all who live and work here.’ In 2005 the Partnership purchased Wayland House which has a training room, a range of offices let to small/start-up business tenants, and an Art Gallery and Visitor Centre.

Over the years the Wayland Partnership has organised Health Fairs in a variety of local venues and we have been delighted over the past three years to bring together a Health and Wellbeing Marquee for the Wayland Show.

This year, however, we have decided to change the focus for the Marquee which will now be the Wayland Creative Community Marquee which will, we hope, demonstrate how effective participation in sports and the arts and other creative activities such as gardening, can be in promoting well-being, and in particular, mental health. So, we will be showcasing projects such as the Sensory Garden, the Memory Café, the Men’s Shed, the Happy Project, the Dragonfly Gallery, along with sports, such as fitness groups, and walking football and activity groups and health and environmental projects such as the community fridge, recycling and so on.
